While some designers are known for specific bags, it is ok for them to venture off the beaten path from time to time. Take Chloe handbags for example; known for it’s Paddington and Silverado, but the company has decided to capture our fascination with some other designs. Totally intriguing and different is the Chloe Small Hampton Handle Bag. I haven’t really seen a bag with this kind of shape yet (or I am just biased and try to believe that I haven’t, since I’m a huge Chloe fan). So let’s see what this bag has to offer. First of all, like I said before, this shape is completely unique and draws you in. Made of tan leather and accented in golden hardware, the bag can also been worn with many outfits for many occasions. I suspect you can dress this bag up or down. Next we see the top handle with red trim. There is not a big drop there, so I am guessing that it is meant to be held with the hand or on the arm, but I wouldn’t mind. The shape looks structured and slouchy all in one (yes, that sure is an oxymoron!). Along with all the above jazz, there is also stud detail and the clever framed front coin pocket with the Chloe logo lock. Do you feel drawn in yet? I sure am. Overall size is 8 2/3″H x 12 2/3″W x 5″D. With all the different aspects for the brand, the price is all too familiar. If you want it bad enough, your gonna have to shell out $1275 via Saks.

For the longest time I associated Chloé with shoulder bags. It took me a while to realize that Chloé also really knows how to make exquisite clutches. Maybe that was a bit close-minded of me. But hey, I’ve realized the error of my way and I now expect all sorts of fabulous bags from Chloé, not just what I was originally accustom to.
My opinion began to change when I saw Amanda’s review of the Chloé Leather Bow Clutch last fall and continued recently with Megs’ review of the Chloé Iris Strass Chrochet Clutch. So, I’ve been keeping my eye out for more amazing creations and have found yet another one I really enjoy.
The word that continues to pop up in my mind when looking at the Chloé Etty Small Brushed-Leather Clutch is glamor. This clutch has gold-brushed leather, gold zip fastening along the front and gold-tone beaded trim. I don’t know about you but sometimes I stray away from all gold or silver bags. For me, they can look like they have far too much going on. It’s almost like a bit of overkill. However, that is not even remotely close to what we have here. Instead, each gold element plays off of the next wonderfully. It is as if each gold element whirls and twirls with the next in perfect unison. Open the clutch and you will find black leather which will obviously offer a dark contrast to the shimmer you see on the outside of the bag. And imagine how many outfits this could work well with – tons! Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1265.

Someone gave me a gift certificate to Max & Chloe so Saturday night, I spent a few hours browsing their site trying to decide what to get.
I was torn between getting a lot of small, cheap items or getting just 1 or 2 really expensive items that I would never usually spend the money on. Their Blu Bijoux collection has a bunch of great pieces for around $20. I found at least 4 rings I wanted to get, 2 pairs of earrings, 3 necklaces and a bracelet. I found a gorgeous pair of Willa M Sterling Silver Diamond-Cut Hoops ($90.00) that were featured in InStyle magazine as a “Look For Less” Beyonce inspired savvy buy. They were really unique, unlike anything I had ever seen before. So I added them to my cart and continued browsing the website.
After an hour of looking in all the sub categories on the site, I realized they had more designers than just the ones listed in the sidebar. They have some of my favorite bracelets from Cynthia H and I was really tempted to get the “Happiness” one. I have her “Love Who You Are Bracelet” bracelet and it’s one of my favs. I’ll blog more about it later…
I know a lot of fashion designers and labels, but when it comes to Jewelry Designers, I’m pretty clueless. I had never even heard of 98% of the names, but coincidentally, Catherine Weitzman was a name I had just heard of a couple days ago when I was reading an article about her totally unique and cool Octopus ring, as seen on The Rachel Ray show. Intrigued, I decided to look at her other items and found Silver Branch Earrings ($70.00) and a Gold Coral Reef Ring ($120.00) that I fell in love with immediately. They have so many things to choose from if you have an unlimited budget. Personally, I’m not used to spending more than $5 or $10 on fashion jewelry… Then I remembered that I always, always, always look for a coupon code before I purchase anything online. I’m the coupon queen!
After about 1 minute on Google I found a coupon code for 20% off and I discovered that you get free shipping on orders of $75 or more!! Much to my disappointment, I discovered that I could not use a coupon code AND my gift certificate code at the same time… Grrrr. I was all set to use the 20% off coupon code, but when I typed in the gift certificate code, it removed my coupon code! So I put the coupon code back in and it removed my gift certificate code. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off… I looked at the FAQ on their website and tried Googling it and nowhere could I find anything that said you couldn’t use a coupon code with a gift certificate. Perhaps their website is programed stupidly?
So I just ended up checking out, only using my gift certificate (Was for $240!) so I only had to contribute $40 of my own money to the purchase, which I figured was pretty nice considering how much I loved the items I was getting. I’m still miffed I didn’t get to use the coupon code. I would have been able to get more… I guess I just have to save up my cash and go shopping again some other time!!
